Job Description

SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for managing the overall daily operations of the store with the prime purpose of increasing sales, gross margin, and overall profitability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Increase store sales by developing and recommending marketing strategiesRemain current in knowledge of all product lines while maintaining and excellent vendor relationshipsRecommend, hire, train, schedule, evaluate and direct all store personnelAdminister financial matters including collection and disbursement of funds, payroll, etc.Ensure customers are provided service through adequate coverage of counter sales staff including, at times, oneselfCommunicate directly with customers and national fleet accountsDirect inside and outside sales staff while building and maintaining key customer relationshipsPrepare various reports for Regional ManagersEnsure adequate inventory levels are maintainedConduct physical inventoriesNON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:Coach and mentor employees for professional developmentMaintain a clean and safe work environmentCoordinate vendor training and support with customer baseFollow-up on routine maintenance of company fleetPerform other tasks as assigned by managementEDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field is preferredEXPERIENCE:Minimum of one to two years of related work experience is preferredSKILLS & ABILITIES:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Intermediate mathematical skills; the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentages, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and write general business correspondence, reports, regulations and instructions. Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the primary duties of this job. Typically the associate will lift, pick, pull, and stock heavy duty truck parts that might be in excess of 50 lbs. The associate will be required to stand for long periods of time and will be required to operate a forklift.
