Job Description

SUMMARY: 

The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for having ownership of small to medium sized customers in assigned store territories with the goal to drive sales growth into these accounts by further qualifying the account and uncovering product expansion opportunities.  In addition, the associate is responsible for new customer identification, qualification, and managing the account if it falls within the small/medium potential profile.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Effectively manage the assigned account base 
  • Research and qualify the account to uncover additional sales opportunities across our product portfolio
  • Execute the sales strategy by proactively calling on the decision maker to influence sales activity
  • Identify and qualify new business development opportunities across assigned geographies 
  • Effectively partner with Store Managers, Account Managers, Inside Counter team, and/or Strategic Account Managers to ensure follow up with new sales opportunities as well as support needed with assigned accounts
  • Identify and contact procurement, fleet, and or parts managers to uncover key information that would include: decision makers, size and scope of potential sales opportunities, current suppliers, future plans, and set the appointment to engage the local store team on the opportunity
  • Identify Product gaps
  • Other duties as assigned 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: 

  • Answer phone within 3 rings
  • Greet and assist customers upon inbound call
  • Inform manager and/or Store manager concerning customer problems or complaints
  • Offer related items for job completion and know and promote all product lines

 EXPERIENCE: 

  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience with phone based marketing or business to business inside sales 
  • Prospecting new business 
  • High volume of outbound calls 
  • Background and knowledge of heavy duty trucking, automotive, or industrial products preferred 

 SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Effective skills in phone-based marketing 
  • Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
